Julian Noott & Alun Evans
Julian and Alun have been P.G.A Professional for over 28 years and have a wealth of teaching knowledge ranging from teaching beginners/juniors to Professional golfers. They both run a well stocked professional shop and are available for lessons.
Julian Noott
Julian has a passion for teaching golf. He derives great satisfaction from introducing beginners to the art, science and craft of the game and tweaking the frustrating minor ailments that inevitably creep into the swings of low handicap golfers. Having been a member originally it was a dream come true for Julian to return home after working in Bedfordshire for over ten years. With that in mind when approached to design the New top 9 holes (now over 12 years old) it seemed like all his wishes had come true.
Alun Evans
Alun first joined Newport Links (Newport Pembs Golf Club as it was then) in 1983 as a junior member. He developed from there and gained County and International Amateur honours, winning the Dyfed County Championships twice. In 1993, Alun decided to join the PGA and became an assistant at Radyr Golf Club in Cardiff . Alun played regularly on the West Region and enjoyed many Pro-Am wins and tried his luck to gain a European Tour Card without success.
Alun qualified as a fully fledged PGA Professional in 1997 and moved to Bedford to join Julian at Pavenham Park to continue his fulltime playing career. He spent a couple of years trying to gain his Tour card and although he won the East Region Assistants championships in 1999, decided to return to Wales and take a Club Professional position at Garnant Park. Alun spent a couple of years there then a position opened up at Newport Links where he has remained since.
Alun brings 27 years coaching experience to the club and is currently working with the C & P girls as a County Coach.
